Independent Research, Ethical Oversight, and Accountability for Combat Veteran Systems

To honor those who served, we transform lived military experience into research, ethics, and reform, strengthening accountability across the systems entrusted with veteran care.

About Us

The Combat Support Institute (CSI) is an independent, research-driven organization dedicated to advancing ethical oversight, scholarly inquiry, and system accountability across military and veteran-facing institutions. CSI focuses on evaluating policies, programs, and practices that affect combat veterans and their families, with an emphasis on evidence-based reform, institutional transparency, and ethical governance.

Founded by a combat veteran and a doctoral-level researcher, CSI bridges lived military experience with academic rigor. The Institute develops research protocols, supports ethical review frameworks, and publishes scholarly and practitioner-informed work addressing combat trauma, disability systems, healthcare access, and legal and administrative failures impacting veterans.

CSI does not function as a direct service or treatment provider. Instead, it serves as a neutral, independent body committed to identifying what works, what fails, and where systemic reform is required. Through research, scholarly publishing, and policy engagement, CSI provides institutions, lawmakers, and the public with data-driven insights designed to improve outcomes and restore accountability within veteran support systems.

Combat service does not end when war ends, and neither should responsibility. CSI exists to ensure that systems charged with serving veterans are held to the highest standards of ethics, evidence, and accountability.
